Q: When is the next tournament?

The First Annual Turkey Shoot is scheduled for November 24, 2024!

Q: How do I register my team?

Q: What if I don’t have a team? Can I be a “free agent.”

No problem! You can register for a pick-up team as a “free agent.” If there are two other players for a pick-up team in your division, and if the division is not full, you will be entered in the tournament.


Q: How much will it cost to play?

The cost of entry and paint, should be comparable to other 3v3 tournaments held in Texas. Our target for 2024-25 is $120 entry and $50 per case of paint.


Q: What are the prize packages?

Top finishers at each tournament can expect to receive medals. Products from series sponsors and supporters may also be awarded as a fun bonus.This tournament series will not offer cash prizes.


Q: Will the layout be released prior to the tournament?

Whenever possible, the layout will be “blind”, with the layout available at the earliest the evening before the tournament begins. The layout may not be blind if the tournament is held on a park’s existing field with fixed bunkers e.g., “hyperball” fields.


Q: What formats will be offered?

To enable our players to compete affordably, this tournament series is dedicated to the traditional 3v3 format. There will be no other formats.


Q: What divisions will be offered?

The objective of this series is to offer a Beginner division (D6) at every tournament. Other divisions may be offered depending on interest by participants. Per the current NXL 3v3 rulebook, the other 3v3 divisions include: Novice (D5), Intermediate (D4), Amateur (D3), and Open (any division).


Q: Can my beginner team roster a D5 ranked player?

No. Only unranked players can roster on a beginner team.


Q: Can I roster a (D4, D3, D2, semi-pro, pro) ranked player on my team?

Rostering rules for each division will be according to the NXL 3v3 rulebook.


Q: Since you are using PBLeagues, do these events count for ranking points?

Yes, points will be awarded to players based on placement in each event.


Q: Where will the tournaments be held?

Initially, tournaments will be held at XFactor Paintball Park in San Antonio, Texas. However, a goal of this series is to host tournaments at paintball parks around San Antonio as well as other nearby locations.


Q: What paint will be used?

Fields will provide the paint with the goal of providing the best ball available from the field’s supplier at $50 per case.


Q: What rules will be used?

The most recent NXL 3v3 rulebook will be used. Any rule modifications will be announced prior to each tournament and/or at the captains’ meeting.


Q: What firing modes will be allowed?

Maximum rate of fire (ROF), maximum feet per second (FPS), and ramping modes will be set according to the most recent NXL 3v3 rulebook. Any variance from these rules (e.g., pump, mech, stock class, etc.) will be announced prior to each tournament.


Q: Do I have to wear a chinstrap?

Seriously? It's 2024. Chinstraps have been required for years, now. Why are you even asking this question? YES. You are required to wear a chinstrap with your goggles.


Q: Do you need refs?

Christian Smith will be the head ref and will be hiring his crew of referees. Please contact Christian to apply.


Q: Do you need media? Photos, video? Will there be a live stream?

Anyone with the equipment, the time, and the energy is welcome to take photos or video of each event or to live-stream each event.


Q: Is the snake hot?

The snake is always hot.
